INTEGRATION TO TEACHING AND THE LEARNING PROCESS
The use of manipulatives in teaching different subjects has been proven to help improve the students’ understanding of the lessons taught by the teachers. “The use of manipulatives is recommended by the NCTM because it is supported by both learning theory and educational research in the classroom. Boggan, Harper and Whitmire stated in the journal article “Using manipulatives to teach elementary mathematics”, “Manipulatives help students learn by allowing them to move from concrete experiences to abstract reasoning.” (“Research on the” n.d.)”
Through the use of manipulatives, abstract concepts in Mathematics, Sciences, English, Social Sciences, and all the other fields have been concretized, and therefore made easier to understand.
